Aena has announced this Friday that it has put out to tender the soundproofing work on more than 400 homes around the César Manrique airport in Lanzarote.
In a press release, the state-owned company also explained that 150 properties will be added at a later date, pending completion of the documentation, the appropriate acoustic measurements and verification of compliance with the planned conditions.
The coordination group of the César Manrique Lanzarote Airport Noise Insulation Plan met this Thursday with representatives of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, the State Aviation Safety Agency, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Aena and the town councils of Arrecife, San Bartolomé and Tías.
Currently, the census of homes and buildings of sensitive use included in this Plan is 1,062 properties, and to date a total of 661 applications have been received.
Aena has reminded that the actions are carried out in homes and buildings of sensitive use (health, educational or cultural centres) that are located within the airport’s Acoustic Easement and that have a continuous sound level equivalent to 60 decibels (dB) during the day or afternoon, and/or 50 dB at night and with a construction licence prior to its approval on 28 September 2021.
