Paris Airports: 3.2 million passengers in August
Paris airports welcomed 3.2 million passengers in August, recording a 68.8% decrease in traffic compared to August 2019.
In total in July and August, traffic at the Paris airports was 5.7 million passengers compared to 20.9 million in the same period last year.
At Charles de Gaulle airport only terminals 2E, 2F and 2AC are currently open to handle all commercial passenger flights. Commercial traffic at Paris-Orly has been resumed since 26 June from Paris Airport CDG Terminal 3; Terminal 4 was reopened on 13 July and Terminal 1B on 24 August.
Intercontinental traffic recorded an average decrease of 80.9% in August, recording impressive numbers to all destinations: Latin America -93.2%, North America -92.9%, Asia-Pacific -92%, Middle East -86.4%, Africa -75.3%, French overseas territories -35.5%.
Traffic from/to the rest of Europe decreased by 65.6%. The contraction recorded by domestic traffic is 38.2%.
Overall, since the beginning of the year, 25.4 million passengers have passed through Paris airports, down by 65.3% compared with the January-August 2020 period.
